Professional athletes live in the spotlight. The public cheers their successes and boos their failures, both on and off the field. While the news media loves a good scandal, a story about a proper role model is even better.
Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Mohamed Sanu Sr. set a good example on a flight home and one family noticed. After returning to his seat, Sanu found a not left by the family sitting behind him. It read,
Hi
You don’t know us, but we wanted to thank you. Our son sat behind you on this flight and watched you. He saw you studying your plays, watched you make healthy choices with your snacks, food and drink. He watched how polite you were to everyone. He is only 10 but just made an elite hockey team and we are on our way to training in CT. You are an inspiration to children and for that you should be proud!
Thank you and Best of Luck!”
Sanu posted the note on Twitter saying “This definitely put a smile on my faceeeee☺️ the little things.”

Within hours more than 2,000 people had liked his tweet. The Atlanta Faclons tweeted a reply about Sanu’s character saying he is “a role model both on and off the field. Proud to have this guy on our team.”
